SENATOR JOHN YUDICHAK STATEMENT IN SUPPORT OF LAND BANK BILL

Harrisburg, September 3, 2020 – During today’s Senate Environmental Resources and Energy Committee meeting, State Senator John Yudichak (I-Luzerne/Carbon) voted in support of House Bill 1737 (Davis), which will add land banks to the list of economic development agencies under Act 3 of 1995 that are immune from environmental liability on properties purchased for redevelopment.

“Land banks are an important and effective tool in addressing blighted properties and helping communities expand housing opportunities in northeastern Pennsylvania,” said State Senator John Yudichak. “Pennsylvania land bank organizations will benefit from the passage of this bipartisan bill that will help revitalize our communities and promote economic development opportunities.”
